About Us

Whether for a private party, wedding music, church service or concert to compliment your event, St. Croix Brass will select pieces to meet your needs. The St. Croix Brass has been providing music for special occasions since 1984.

We're proud to have played numerous venues in the St. Croix River Valley and greater Twin Cities area. We especially enjoy performing for holiday celebrations. We have a standing yearly performance at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church for their Easter and Christmas services.

The St. Croix Brass Quartet is an elegant addition to indoor and outdoor weddings. Past venues include Como Park South Garden of the Marjorie McNeeley conservatory; Carlson Towers, Minnetonka; multiple weddings at St. Lukes Catholic church on Summit Avenue, St. Paul; the Historic Courthouse, Stillwater, MN; the Avalon riverboat (St. Croix Boat & Paddle Co.), Stillwater, MN.

Other sponsored events have included Music Under Glass Concert in the South Garden of the Como Park Conservatory (St. Paul Parks and Recreation); a concert at the Pump House (Center for the Arts), LaCrosse, WI; Phipps Center for the Arts concert, Hudson, WI; dedication reception for a new addition at the Marion Center, St. Paul; Christmas corporate party at the St. James Hotel, Red Wing, MN; Art in the Park concert in Pine City, MN; and a fundraiser at the Indeed Brewery, North Minneapolis.

In addition, we have played the Star Spangled Banner at the Minnesota Twins game; Mayo Clinic and Hospitals, Rochester, for Harmony Concert; fundraising concert in Hastings for a Minnesota Christian Fellowship Camp for Youth.

Dennis Opland

St. Croix Brass Leader

Dennis created St. Croix Brass to pursue the music he loves that compliments a variety of celebrations. He particularly enjoys performing at weddings. The St. Croix Brass ensemble is comprised of talented players from around the Twin Cities and St. Croix River Valley. The players rotate based on the engagement. Dennis, however, is always at the helm creating the perfect accompaniment to any setting. It's why the St. Croix Brass are a part of many organizations' annual gatherings.

The St. Croix Brass Quartet played for my father's memorial service and did an excellent job.
